Mind Move Make

Explore Art, Mindfulness, and Movement

Mind Move Make is a dynamic program for children that combines mindfulness, movement, and visual art.  Julie Jansen, the lead teacher, draws upon knowledge and experience gained during her 15 years working as an Art Educator to develop and teach each class.

The sessions are organized with a theme, and concepts from that theme are incorporated into each class.  Ideas from children’s literature, art history, and contemporary art are introduced to provide inspiration.  Children develop focus and build community as they practice mindfulness and yoga-influenced movement.  Creativity is explored each child cultivates inventive ideas for their artwork.

During every class, a fun process-based art project is introduced! Many different art materials are used and investigated. Each student will receive a sketchbook to develop their ideas and explore drawing and creativity. The classes are crafted with the needs of each specific group in mind.
